Second Speeches

The second day of speeches came with mixed feelings, both about myself and those of others. My first feeling, or contemplation rather, was whether or not to promote my charity of choice as your friendly neighborhood Spiderman, or as the wanna-be, me. After that problem was resolved, the speeches began with a rather strong presentation about, Third Phase was it? The following speeches were very strong, somewhat shaky, and at all points in-between. The speech I would like to call the most attention to is that of my own. I'll admit, some of the aspects that I ended up covering were improvised (although the facts were real), however i felt that it ended up going much smoother than initially expected. One surprise I found is that 5 minutes is a lot less time than you would think, especially when you have so much to tell.

Nick,

I also had mixed feeling about the presentations from today. It seemed as if many people were shaky and nervous. In my mind this is to be expected, being that this is the first AP blog that all but two people in the class have ever done. The major faults that I saw were lack of conviction in people's voices when they spoke.

You however, did a great job. your "improvisations" certainly did the trick in my mind, and I was very impressed with the entirety of your speech. I was most impressed with how you talked with us through your own experiences, and that definitely led more than a little conviction to your overall presentation. I could list all of the things that you did right but that would be very long list. The only thing I could say is perhaps a tiny bit more organization. But even that was the weakest of the strong.
